What (and when) is International Women’s Day?

International Women’s Day is observed on March 8 and celebrates the global  achievements of women according to the International Women’s Day website. The day not only honors women but also calls for equality across the board.

How can you celebrate International Women’s Day?

Post on social media. Write about the importance of gender equality. Acknowledge the women in your life and great leaders who have forged the path ahead of you that and have led the way.

In our Clubhouse audio room on International Women’s Day over 120 women (and smart men) came together to connect, share and honor these women. Here are three of them below:

Grandma Vashtye: Melissa Jones

My BRAVE grandmother Vashtye guided me like Harriet Tubman, taught me how to fight like Muhammad Ali, showed me the meaning of working hard like Oprah Winfrey, and instilled a spirit of boldness within me like Kamala Harris

Stephanie Mila Jenkins: Kathy Binner

“I dont know about you, but sometimes we might think our journey is too hard — that was me when Stephanie Mila Jenkins came along side me and inspired me to launch my international academy. She was my first collaboration with a combination in-person and virtual group. As the group was beginning to soar, we lost Stephanie after a short illness. I am honored to create The Stephanie Mila Jenkins Initiative to give away an educational scholarship each year. Our first year we gave two educational scholarships inpowering two more women to live their dreams. #SimplyStart”

Mother Teresa Julia Langley

Clad in a white Sari with a blue border, Saint Mother Teresa became a symbol of hope to the poorest of the poor. She was authentic and honest about her struggles with her faith and endured constant criticism over her beliefs and her work. . .  yet never faltered in her mission and service to the world.  She knew what God had chosen her to do and wholeheartedly accepted it.  I often think about her when I face challenges and question my own purpose in the world.  I can only hope that something I do or say can make a difference in the lives of others.

Join us in our CH room The Speaker’s Society Mon-Fri 8AM-9:30AM EST each day for topics on entrepreneurship, personal growth, and leadership.

To Your Onward Success,
