Becoming a Superhero using the computer

Darling, did you know that you are your own superhero and with the right questions, you can tap into your super powers to finish the year strong?

If you are like me, it’s been a crazy year.  I’ve moved through the stages of feeling stuck and ready to quit, to feeling inspired to procrastinating, to taking action… And now on to fully owning all of it- my vulnerability, imperfections and flaws while taking stepping forward anyway. I know that I am not alone: many of you  share that you are feeling the same way. I hear ya. It’s simple but not easy. That being said…

I believe the time has come for all of us to stop playing small and to grow our mind strong with some new improved habits. Since we’re knee deep in the thick of things and summer is almost over (This Florida girl has been wearing long jeans and sweatshirts up in New England!), it’s time we pause to ask relevant questions to get the most out of what we have left of 2017. We only have 120 days to go. Cant you believe it?

So what about your goals? When you look back on December 31st, (the countdown has begun) you should be able to reflect back to a year in which you got some major stuff accomplished. That would feel great, wouldn’t it? The last 4 months, THESE last 4 months are the KEY. To recalibrate…to sync up…to tap into your innate super powers I’ve come up with 7 KEY questions for you to ask yourself right now while there is enough time to HUSTLE UP and finish the year strong.

As I was putting them together, I couldn’t help thinking about Super Heroes like Wonder Woman and how we all have a little of her “chuzpah” within us.

1. What persona figure could I borrow from to exemplify their heroic characteristics?
Start with an image in mind and match it with one word, phrase or feeling that relates to their character. For example Wonder Women is courageous and unstoppable. She crushes it, right? Now embody that feeling so you can get yourself into an empowered state of mind. The only criteria is that the word or phrase you pick has to get you totally psyched! Make it strong. Make it potent. I highly recommend you take a look at this TedX video to strike a POWER POSE  from Wonder Woman  here (keyword- confidence)

2. What are my top priorities- what are the  top 3-5 things I want to accomplish before end of the year?
Let’s divide these up into segments. Pick one  that is career oriented, one that is focused on health, one in the relationship category, one project related to your home and one last one that has to do with growth and investing in self. A few ideas to get the juices going- Health: cutting back on caffeine, Work: finishing the first draft of your book or your first email, Relationship: setting up boundaries and saying no without guilt. Home Project- cleaning out your bedroom closet and donating clothes. Self Growth- start listening to one podcast a week. Wouldn’t that feel amazing to accomplish a list like that before the end of the year? Totally doable- (don’t forget to focus on Q1 as your foundation, first).

3. In order to get the above items checked off my list, what do I need to say NO to now so that I can create momentum going into the end of the year?
Maybe you need to take a social media break or say NO to hitting the snooze button on your alarm clock. A “no” today is actually saying “yes” to something even bigger, better and more important later. Remember your superhero power and saying NO is tapping into it and using it for your greater good. (read 7 more ninja tips for saying NO here).

4. In order to get the above items checked off my list, what do I need to say YES to?
What power induced superhero habits or routines do you need to develop? Scheduling your entire week methodically every Sundays? Getting your workout in before 8 am? Preparing meals for the whole week ahead of time? Hiring a coach, joining a mastermind, jumping into a 30-30-30 day challenge? Where there is a will there is a way. Putting your ideas down on paper. Know what you need to eliminate and know what you need to commit to.

5. Who do I need to spend less time with? Who do I need to spend more time with to put on my own superhero list.
Our powers are increased or decreased based on who we are spending time with. It’s true- we are the average of the 5 people that we spend the most time with. Grab a piece of paper and put a line down the middle. Label the top- More Time, Less Time. As much as we love the people in our lives, some of them can make it hard to get shit done, whether because they’re too much fun, or on the flip-side, their negative vibes suck all the oxygen out of the room. Get clear about who is who and what list they are on. Add to the heading “More Time” the people that help you grow, inspire you and model success. Reach out to that list and get busy making plans with them.

6.  What superhero reminders will help me stay on track?
Do you need to chant mantras every morning? Affirmations on your bedroom mirror? A new vision board? Your mission and vision statement framed at your desk? A gigantic whiteboard over your computer? Mind Maps? Reverse Engineer recordings created every week? A coach that checks in with you every morning (I’ve got a few clients that I stay in contact with every single day to stay hyper focused).

7.  What if I loose steam? What if I get stuck?
Ask for help. At the end of the day our greatest super power is our ability to ASK for support. There is a sluegh of people out there will jump through hoops to help you. But you have to be willing to invest in your self growth and to do the work. It’s simple but not easy. It’s my intention to be part of a solution and I working tirelessly behind the scenes to help in any way I can. It is my hope and desire that my writings contribute in some small way to al that take the time to read them.

And if, in anyway, you found these superhero ideas helpful I would love to hear in the comments below.

Let’s crush the rest of 2017. You are freakin’ incredible, amazing, deserving and doing this.

You are not alone. We are doing this together. Period.
