Can you have too much of a good thing…or of anything?

If you ate at your favorite restaurant everyday you would most likely gain weight, become bored, and be missing out on the chance to discover an even better dining experience.

Doing anything to an extreme is limiting (even things that are really good for you). Life is meant to be savored – all of it.

If, for example you only eat super clean and healthy then you would miss out of some of life’s greatest experiences like the delicious taste of the best French toast in town (especially if you live near Max’s Harvest in Delray and YES, I just indulged there myself this past weekend).

This topic is very near and dear to my heart since I have recently opened up a whole new version of myself to bring more balance into my own life. Up until 6 months ago, I was only eating super clean, hadn’t watched television in 7 years and stopped drinking (even vino) and then it hit me… Life is about balance…enjoying the richness (with awareness & discipline) all of it. Not about the “NO ‘s” but about the “YES ‘s” and that is how you achieve true BALANCE in your life.

So where do you start if you want to achieve more balance in your life?

1.) Do an assessment. Break down your life into several categories and rate yourself. (on a scale of 1-10, one being the lowest rating and ten being the highest).

Health, Relationships, Spirituality/God, Career, Finances, Adventure, Love, Home, etc

2.) Set Boundaries. Decide what you are willing to let go of to create more time and space for what matters most. (ie: weekly dates with your hubby instead of hanging out on facebook, etc)

3.) Let go of the pressure to become perfect. You are perfectly imperfect and so is everyone else. Just by having a greater awareness you are on your way to more balance. (Phew, that’s a big relief, right?)

4.) Ask others for help. People love to feel needed so why not give someone else the opportunity to feel good. (The giver gets as much or more than the receiver).

5.) Do something out of your “normal” zone. Be wild and crazy if you are normally conservative (that could be singing karoke or wearing one of the new neon colors). Speak up if you are normally quiet or be humbly quiet if you normally are bold & outspoken.

Always Believe,

Wendi

Ever stretch the truth (or swept the truth under the rug, looked the other way, or just plain out lied)?

Integrity is an interesting topic because the meaning varies based on the perception of the person defining it.

Does a white lie count like telling someone you will call them when you know you won’t or giving someone a compliment because you really want to close the deal or make the sale?

What about being silent while someone does something that is morally or ethically wrong like cheating on their taxes (or their wife)?

Integrity is how high you set your own internal bar. Reputations (the conversation about you when you aren’t in the room) are built on this number #1 key to success. All other characteristics fall under the umbrella of integrity.

Integrity is about doing what is right even when it isn’t popular or easy.

Integrity is being consistently kind, honest, respectful, humble, honorable, and fair.

Integrity is about doing what is ethical even when others aren’t watching.

At the end of the day, if you want better relationships, more success in your business, and to live a joy filled life- first focus on having the highest integrity and notice how the magic of the Universe expands to support you.

Each and every day is a GIFT but unless you recognize it then why would the HIGHER powers that exist give even MORE to you?

Perhaps it is all about SEEING what is already here EVEN if that means you have to look with a flashlight into some really dense, dark places to find it.

Have you noticed what a fast paced world we live in? Of course you have and it is only going to get faster. Let’s face it these days everyone wants their desires met instantly and if that doesn’t happen then they get frustrated, disappointed or depressed.

So is there a way to develop patience in an impatient world? There sure is and once you have decided to become patient and allow things to happen rather then force them you will not only feel free but will accomplish more than you ever imagined.

Many times it is for your greatest and highest good that something doesn’t happen but you won’t know why for many years to come. While you are living in the midst of your current situation you have to tap into your faith and trust that all things will work out.

What about all the people who suddenly get that big break, aren’t they just lucky? Often something appears like it happened suddenly and that lady luck was on their side but the story underneath the story reveals something completely different.

Have you ever read the book “Outliers“? Malcolm Gladwell talks about 10,000 hours as the magical number of practice hours it takes to make someone an overnight success (ie…The Beatles). You only hear about people after they have made it so it appears that they did it quickly but if you dig deeper you uncover the real story of persistence, passion, and patience.

Even if you could win the lottery or become famous overnight studies confirm that when you don’t have enough time to integrate and process what has taken place then more often than not it can not be sustained. Evidence of athletes, celebrities and lottery winners ending up penny- less after hitting it big are everywhere. To avoid the emotional rollercoaster why not slow down and just be patient?

Here are 3 ways to develop patience:

1.) Every morning right after you get out of bed repeat the affirmation “Today I choose to be calm, patient, and balanced.” Today, I choose to be grounded and centered”. “Today I choose to be grateful for the things that I already have in my life and embrace them knowing that all things come in due time”.

2.) Spend 5 minutes (yeap, only five minutes will make a significant difference in your life) using the following “breathing mantra meditation- Inhale, I breathe in and celebrate this moment. Exhale, I breathe out anything that does not serve me. Inhale, I breathe in peace and tranquility. Exhale, I breathe out expectations and attachment to outcomes. Inhale, I breathe in love, light and expansion. Exhale, I breathe out worry, anxiety, and fear. Inhale, I breathe in hope, faith, and possibility. Exhale, I breathe out impurities and old beliefs. Inhale, I am. Exhale, all need to control.

3.) Close your eyes and see the thing that you desire as if it is yours and then release it and let it go knowing with complete certainty that if it is not delivered to you exactly as you planned that a greater more desirable plan is in store for you.

Patience is something that can be developed over time if you put in the time to cultivate it. It is well worth the investment of your time because the bonuses you get come in the form of health, wealth and happiness.

Smiles and Success,

Wendi

The 3-5-7 Connection Formula

The Connection Formula

So little time and so much to do…how do you stay connected in an increasingly busy world? Not only will you feel happier but when an opportunity pops up on one of your associate’s desk they will think about YOU first.

If you want to stand out the crowd (and I know you do) then you have to stand out. Most people wait until they need something before calling someone. You can think of several people right now that only call you when they want something. How does that make you feel? Are they the ones you are going to call when you have a chance to recommend someone for a great job, a new client, or a TV interview? Nope, not a chance!

Just yesterday I got a call from someone asking for recommendations for a cool podcast project being filmed in Miami and I immediately thought of the person I had lunch with the day before…coincidence? This wonderful colleague had taken time out of their very busy schedule to help me with something I was working on. By the way, I wasn’t consciously aware that is why I thought of this person because the entire filtering process was going on in my subconscious mind. (I had a “aha” moment while writing this post).

So how can you build stronger relationships, trust and connect deeper. By investing your time in “face time” and connecting for no other reason than to say hello and see how you can help the other person.

Here is my personal 3-5-7 Connection Formula:

1.) Connect with 3 people a week over a meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner…coffee counts too). Inquire and ask about the other person and allow them to do most of the talking while you do most of the listening.

2.) Connect with 5 people directly on the phone. Offer ways to be of assistance and take one action step that can help each one in their business.

3.) Connect with 7 people via skype, video chat or snail mail (they will remember you took the time to write them). Send a congratulations note to someone who just got a new job, relocated or whose child just got into college.

Oh, and one last note, when you follow-up periodically by doing something incredible, amazing, and really special for someone on your list…then guess what happens?

To Your Success,

P.S.- 2013 is YOUR year to SHINE…Join us on January 26th to crystalize your VISION and put into place your ACTION plan for the upcoming year…Oh, and did I mention that we are going to have FUN in the process??? (just sayin’)…

So here’s a question for you: On a 1-10 how much time, energy and resources have you put into creating an even bigger life for yourself in 2013? If you reflected, contemplated and thought out what you really want (ok, so you have to be bendy and give yourself lots of wiggle room too) then you already have a sense that this is going to be your year. If you (like most) have put it off there is still time to catch the wave and create an even bigger, better, more brilliant vision and destiny for this new year.

Where do you start…

With the end in mind imagine what it will be like this time next year WHEN…

You are celebrating a year of success both on a personal and professional level (see yourself smiling BIG).

You are grateful for all the new experiences, new opportunities, and accomplishments achieved over the year.

You are surrounded by amazing people that you enjoy being with (see a snapshot of the people that you love & admire most).

You feel happy and free (remember a time when you have felt this in the past and activate the same feeling).

You are proud of how far you have come, your strength, and your persistence. (see yourself as a warrior)

Spending only a few minutes each day seeing this vision creates cellular memory as if it has already happened…

What if this is how your future destiny is created?

I believe you can influence your life and your destiny by seeing it and feeling it BEFORE it actually happens. Hmmmm….

Why not do something bold and different this year and see with a different kind of “I” ….your inner “EYE”.

Live Your Life, Create Your Destiny,
